When trying to plan our first trip to Kenya for my husband’s birthday I found myself becoming more and more confused. Too many options! Luckily I started a correspondence with Mira from Safaris Made Simple. Her infinite patience with me was astounding as she answered every single question I had….down to the smallest detail and I had lots and lots of questions.

Mira helped narrow my choices with comparisons, maps and her vast personal knowledge of the country. Then she made all of our airline, overnight, safari, and car transfer reservations. She even suggested things to do, places to shop and restaurants to try when we were in certain areas of the country. From the moment we arrived in Kenya things moved like clockwork. All of our expectations were met and I am still confident that our choices were perfect for us.

Now we are dreaming of our next adventure in Africa, to Botswana, and have already started asking Safaris Made Simple for their help again.

Simple indeed! After a difficult year for our family, we decided to take a two week trip over Easter/spring break to do something great and grand. Mira put together a trip that appealed to my wine-and-luxury-loving husband, that addressed my own long-held desires to observe and photograph the animals of Africa, and that accommodated the interests of two young children (11 and 7). Her recommendations for lodging and activities were spot-on. And her participation did not stop at the planning stage; we stayed in touch during our two-week trip so that she could be of assistance at any time it came up. Finally, and reluctantly, we came home after our trip of a lifetime. While it was difficult to return, I looked forward to the pleasure of sharing my experience with a person who has become a wonderful friend. Moreover, Mira truly derives great pleasure from the happiness that her trips bring to her clients. I love that we can meet and plan the next trip (and yes, there is a next one in the works) over a cup of coffee!

Our 2010 trip to Kenya and Tanzania was a dream come true for me, an amazing trip that I will always remember. We loved our guide and the various camps, not to mention the beauty of the landscape, the friendly people, and the incredible wildlife. All of the arrangements were perfect, and we were very well taken care of. We plan on asking Mira again to arrange a trip for us to South Africa in the next year or two. I will recommend Mira and “Safaris Made Simple” whenever I have the opportunity.

Even though we had lived in Africa for almost 15 years and I originally thought I could organize a group safari for our family and friends myself, the number of options and amount of information available online was overwhelming. In the end we went with Mira and I can safely say that none of us had any regrets whatsoever. Mira planned our two week safari to Zambia from start to finish, and her knowledge of the region and attention to detail made our trip a wonderful success.

We spent two days at Victoria Falls. The rest of the time was divided between two contrasting accommodations: an unpretentious luxuriously appointed tented camp and a classic ‘bush’ camp in the Lower Zambezi National Park. It was exactly what we were looking for. Among many other fascinating experiences we had elephants walking though our camps in the afternoons. Yet we knew we were always in safe and in capable hands. It was truly the trip of a lifetime, thanks to Mira’s professional planning and excellent suggestions.

We highly recommend seeing Africa, especially before it gets spoiled, and we can guarantee that you if you use Mira, you won’t have any regrets. We plan to use her again for our next customized safari.

I did a lot of research on the web looking for the right blend of expertise, service and value and I found all of that and more in Mira. She is very knowledgeable not only about the various places to go in Africa, having personally been there many times, but also about the various levels of safari that you could take. We had a fixed time frame to deal with because of my son’s spring break schedule, which ruled out most of the pre-packaged tours.

Mira proposed a private safari that was in the price range of the pre-packaged group tours we were originally thinking about. She presented a number of options, gave us the pros and cons of the various alternatives, answered all of our questions, and we settled on a private safari within Kenya, going to three of the major parks: Amboseli, at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro; Samburu, a riverine kind of environment; and the Masai Mara, a plains environment. The trip exceeded our expectations. We saw the big 5, got up close and personal with an amazing variety of wildlife and stayed at some fantastic lodges. And most importantly, everything went off like clockwork. No surprises, no problems.

Africa is supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, and ours truly was, thanks to Mira. She was extremely diligent, responsive, and so informative. I recommend Mira wholeheartedly and would absolutely use her again for any travel to Africa.

I had a wonderful experience with our African Safari trip that Mira planned for us. The safari and seeing Victoria Falls were outstanding! All of the hotels, safari camps, and connecting flights were arranged by Mira which made our entire trip stress free. The smallest details were attended to, such as having the best room to see the view of the city in Cape Town. The highlight of the trip was the safari! I never tired of viewing the animals and seeing them in their natural habitat. The camps that we stayed in were very clean, safe and everyone very friendly and accommodating. This was a trip of a lifetime and I would recommend seeing Africa and Mira for planning the trip! Exceptional Trip!

My friends and I did a safari in Tanzania in 2006. It was such an incredible trip that I still remember it very well. The camps and personnel were wonderful. The arrangements were impeccable.
